Tweeterborough (born in Moca. Dominican Republic) better known by his stage name El-Tweeter a.k.a Spirituall was raised in Sabaneta in the northwestern Dominican Republic by his single mother and the help of close friends and family. Living in a palm wood house with a tin roof and dirt floors. He is the son of a Dominican father and mother,
the mother was a sewing machine operator, and the father sold goods from his truck before heading out.
At the age of 2, he suffered a knee accident that nearly took his life, while his mother was paying for a "motoconcho" which is a motorcycle taxi used for public transportation, the trucker applies his brakes to avoid hitting the child who was playing, BUT Tweeter was hit, dragged and severely beaten by the dirt and rocks on the road as his body was under one of the tires while the truck was braking. His right leg would almost be amputated. Doctors' lack the knowledge to clean the wound and sew it up, releasing the patient but leaving small dirt and rock particles inside the knee that causes leg swelling days later. Looking for a better hospital his mom takes him to the second largest city in the Dominican Republic, Santiago, when the doctors give her news of a bill she can't pay to save her son's leg, she is left devastated and scared, luckily family in America hear the devastating news and send financial aid to save his leg.
A humble and hard-working young person seeking prosperity, his mother is given the opportunity of lifetime and her visa is approved to work and live with her son in the USA. tweeterboro music
The family slowly begins to build a nest in Park Slope Brooklyn N.Y Motivated to improve her son's life. she enrolls him at P.S#154 in Brooklyn. He begins to adjust to the ways of the Big Apple starts learning a new language and evolves with the new environment and life ahead. The building was full of love and good times. Prospect Ave was a great place to be for his family 1990. The family of about 10 rented 2 apartments in the same building temporarily, allowing him not to feel his father's absence. he became so enamored by the frequencies and melodies of the music, that he began reciting the works of merengue, bachata, ballads and salsa songs that his uncle Tio Edward would play from a Sony stereo system, extremely loud! The artist who most influenced and fascinated Tweeter was (El General), a Panamanian reggae artist, the father of "Reggae En Español and merengue music".
JUST when life seemed GREAT!!
His stay in the city of dreams and the land of opportunities was short lived due to financial problems that his mother faced, so she send him back to the Dominican Republic, where he would stay with his great-grandparents. tweeterboro music all music platforms
One can only wonder at the emotional development of the child, back home with his great-grandparents, he is bounced like a basketball tossed from aunts to uncles and family friends as they help dunk according to their schedules.
He would enroll in a nearby elementary school where he attended with a couple of his cousins, missing a father figure in his life so much that he would start calling his uncle's friends father when they walked through the door of his aunt's house, times when he stayed by his great-grandparents' house, his biological father would drive past the back of a fruit truck selling produce with a loudspeaker yelling "fruits, bananas, bananas, eggs" he would yell out the white window for unfortunately his father the family refused visits due to his father's alcoholic behavior and lack of desire to see his son, great-grandmother Mama Nana and great-grandfather Papa Antonio took great care of their little grandson.
They gave TweeterBorough extra love, extra care and emotional support, but most of all they gave him faith, faith to believe that he and his mother would be reunited, faith to believe that everything would be alright with God's blessings and mercy in Jesus name. Faith is a big part of the family, prayers every night with holy water, rosaries and holy bibles in the house, he also witnessed the values of hard work and dedication as he and his cousins would travel with his uncle Papo to different workplaces. , the best part of the weeks was when his uncle Papo played softball for a league and he took the kids with him to the field so they can enjoy the game or practice on the side of the field. tweeterboro music all music platforms
A couple of years later, his mother finds stability by crossing the bridge into New Jersey and is able to bring her son to live with her. Music was always a part of life, he played the flute and started learning to write music in elementary school.
Growing up on the streets of Paterson NJ is no easy task, with drugs and gangs knocking on your front door and parents working full-time and part-time jobs. kids are home from school feeling loneliness and the absence of a real family, many of the children in the city have no father and only a single mother. So like most kids in Paterson New Jersey he found love with the people in his neighborhood and other kids who were in his similar broken emotional state. while his family was at war music guided him into peace as he struggled with temptations and emotional neglect
he always made sure to have his cassette player to record his experience and expel the negative energy he was being influenced to as he walked his city. He and his Friends Jason, Michael, and Jos-b, Miguel's dad, had a professional DJ system that he would let the kids play with, the 4 of them would play original CDs for hours, like Cash Money, 2pac, biggie smalls, also OutKast, Bone Thugs and many more, they'd even go on tour with Michael's dad and his band to DJ at events.
In his adolescence TweeterBorough began to write songs, but they were not party songs at first, rather his songs were of pain, death, and confusion and some reflected his rejection, his first song was written for the instrumental flowers of the dead, dedicated to his friend (Hansel) who died in the seventh grade in a hit-and-run accident while riding his bike in the video store blockbuster at the time.
"Let's try to keep the peace, north, west, south and east, love is all we have, we are the streets."
HIS LIFE TOOK A DRAMATIC AND EMOTIONAL TURN IN THE 7TH GRADE AND HE ALMOST LOST HIS LIFE.
